Skills levels
Technical level
Level 1
Double track, estate roads, shallow inclines, with some rocks and roots. Basic bike handling skills required.
Level 2
Landrover tracks, some singletrack sections, steep sections, frequent rocks and roots. Good bike handling skills requires, like lifting front and rear wheels, managing small drops and rock sections.
Level 3
Mostly singletrack, some Landrover tracks, steep technical climbs and descents, frequent rocks, slabs and roots. Advanced bike handling skills required such as, bunny hop, handling big drops, rock gardens, tight hairpins and loose rock.
Fitness level
Level 1
Exercise regularly. Are comfortable with sustained output at a relaxed pace for three to four hours a day for two to four consecutive days.
Level 2
Exercise two to three times a week for 30 minutes or more. Are comfortable with sustained effort at athletic pace. Can ride four to six hours per day for up to four consecutive days and are comfortable pushing and hiking with the bike for sections.
Level 3
Exercise three to four times a week for 40 minutes or more. Are comfortable with sustained challenging pace including long periods of anaerobic exercise. Can climb for hours, ride six or more hours a day for more than four consecutive days with some technical hike-a-bike.
Level 4
Exercise five times or more a week for 40 minutes and more. Are comfortable with sustained challenging pace including long periods of anaerobic exercise for five or more days in a row.
